The 2009 Tennis Season has gotten off to a great start. There has not been this much competition in Tennis since the women's game recaptured the centre-stage. The 1st Grand Slam tournament of the year, The Australian Open Championships 2009, has not disappointed with tremendous highs and lows, tremendous storylines, effort and, fanfare. This years AO Semifinal draw is as follows:
Women Singles:
* #7 Vera Zvonareva of Russia squares off against #3 Dinara Safina also of Russia
* #4 Elena Dementieva of Russia squares off against #2 Serena Williams of the USA
(My money is on Dinara and Serena facing off in the finals; instant classic in the making. Although I miss Ms. Jankovic in this tournament. The #1 ranked Jankovic of Serbia lost to Bartoli in the 4th round of the tournament)
Men Singles:
* #1 Rafael Nadal of Spain squares off against #14 Fernando Verdasco of Spain

* #7 Andy Roddick of USA squares off against #2 Roger Federer of Switzerland
