30 years old. That is the age of Steelers Outside Linebacker, James Harrison. It is both a blessing and a possible kiss of death. Most athletes reach their maximum peak right around the same age - pretty much, all across the board and in most sports. Now feature the man affectionately called Deebo by the Steeler Nation, Mr. James Harrison. The question of whether he was peeking was put to rest a few months ago when Deebo picked off a Kurt Warner pass and ran it back 100 yards the other way for a touchdown; a true Pick 6. That was the single most memorable play from last season's Superbowl. It will no doubt go down in history as one of the most memorable plays in the history of the Pittsburgh Steelers (and arguably, in the history of the NFL).
In a season where Deebo played a leading role on an unbelievably stout defense that made and won the Super Bowl Trophy, he was awarded the coverted Defensive Player of the Year by the NFL. So when his number came up in contract negotiations getting his deal reworked and having him re-sign was a definitely priority for the Black and Gold. Fittingly, Harrison received $20 Mil in guaranteed bonus money as part of a 6 year, $51.175 Million deal. Yes. Deebo is now worth a mint. If he is able to stay healthy while maintaining peak form for the next 2 years, Harrison would more than earn his pay.
